EVERYTHING’S CHANGING!!!

In an effort to further alienate a prospective audience, I’m giving Substack a try. The thought of monetising my hobby makes me uncontrollably vomit for hours. But I have been encouraged by multiple and unrelated individuals to consider it.

I’ll therefore be using the platform to post longer, more involved essays. Some of which I might actually think about. Some might require things like research, a total affront to the “armchair rhetoric” ethos. I might even reject the “on extreme metal” clause and branch out into other topics. All delivered directly to your mail-hole. Social media is dead, eat nothing but peaches, the world is yours.

This is all with a view to try and write better and more often. That’s the party line anyway. The real reason is to attract an audience beyond the modest brood of pondlife that reads Hate Meditations on the regular.

As well as the essays, Substack subscribers will get ad free access to episodes of the podcast and the YouTube videos (the goods ones anyway), along with video transcripts (when I can find them).

Reviews, podcasts, and semi-regular essays will still be going up on the WordPress site at the usual sporadic pace. Fear not. I’ve poured too much into the original Hate Meditations blog over the last 8(?) years to let it whither on the vine. The WordPress platform has been good to us and has given me no reason to jump ship entirely.

I’ll post another update shortly announcing my abandonment of this venture.
